Tahvaarus was an archeologist and a member of the Green Lantern Corps.

History

Years ago, Tahvaarus traveled to the furthest reach of Guardian Space in the hopes of finding the secret codes that would open the long dormant Lighthouse. Unfortunately he disappeared of the Guardian's radar, and somehow gained the secret codes and also locked up in prison on the prison asteroid.

He was put in a cell with the inmate Thanagarian outlaw Byth Rok. In the cell, Tahvaarus was tortured with the mind altering device and before his incoming death, he gave the secret codes to his cellmate: Byth Rok, and crafted a message saying that people for who searches the codes must find Byth Rok.

The message was successfully informative to the Green Lanterns Kilowog and Hal Jordan, but unfortunately also to their enemies: the Red Lanterns.
